[Joe] When I sit down and meet with a client, one of the things I explain to them that’s different about Edward Jones is that we are not publicly traded. We are owned by ourselves and our responsibility lies within the client satisfaction and making sure that we’re doing what’s right. Listening to a client and their daily life will give you lots of insight into what they need.
[Text] Simona Bolton – Sr. BOA
[Simona] I’m constantly digging deeper in that relationship and learning what’s important to them, and really just getting to know them as a person and as a friend.
[Joe] It’s exciting to see clients achieve what they set out to do. When they go on that vacation or they retire at that certain age or they send their kid to college and they have no worries about how to pay for it.
[Simona] When I first started, BOAs would tell me stories about how they went to their client’s anniversary party or they went to their client’s child’s graduation, and I thought, that’s interesting, I don’t really think that’s gonna happen, but a few years later, here I was sitting at one of my client’s 60th birthday parties, and I thought, how cool is this that I get to be a part of their everyday milestones?
[Text] A Problem Solver
[Joe] Successful BOAs have attention to detail. They’re self-starters. When they run into a wall, they’re able to use the tools that we have here to find answers to their questions very easily.
[Simona] There’s a big focus in each of our branches to be client-centric, to think like our clients, to want to help them, to want to help them achieve their goals.
[Text] The Branch Team
[Simona] We are branch partners. My financial advisor is the one with the licensing, so he’s responsible for doing anything that requires a license and I’m responsible for doing anything that doesn’t require a license. Our job description is set and there’s no guesswork in that position.
[Text] Investing in You
[Simona] Advancement at Edward Jones can be what you want it to be. You can start as a BOA. You can start as an on-call BOA where you work part-time. You can transfer to a home office position. You can become a financial advisor. There is always opportunity to grow.
[Joe] I’ve had the opportunity to work in many different roles and have different responsibilities. The opportunity is there if you want to take it.
[Text] A Firm You Can Be Proud Of
[Joe] The thing that I enjoy most about this firm is the partnership we have together. It really is a family. We really work well together as a firm to help the client reach their goals. Edward Jones has created this culture of doing what’s right and that’s been so nice in this world that we’re in. We have the ability to be proud of what we are and what we have.
[Simona] Joining Edward Jones was one of those best decisions that I ever made in my career, truly, and I say that with a really full heart. They are just as stand up with their employees as they are with their clients. We are compensated well. There are many ways that we can further our development. We have benefits, 401k, profit sharing. I’m a limited partner with the firm, which means that I’m a part owner in this firm and that means a really, really big deal.
[Joe] If you’re looking for a career where you can make an impact in people’s lives, feel proud about the company that you work for and go home at the end of the day knowing that you’ve changed lives, this would be the firm to join.
